What you give is What you get

In software world we all have a terminology called what you see is what you get.
Some one also told me during my childhood days that what you give is what you get back in life.

Both of them never were more true when LalMasjid went on blaze on the other side of the border.
May be i was around 7-8 years when on a fine morning i read this incident called Operation Blue Star in Punjab and manipulative political establishments across the borders tried to induce further tension by using the incident as a step to insitgate sponsored terrorism. It took toll on probably on one of the greatest woman leaders ever to have born there after.
Probably i was around was 14-15 years old when again a terrorist organization down the country stood as reason to bring one of the charismatic Indian PM's and possibly the most forward thinking PM's we had till then to ashes. If it was mother once , it was son's term.
Few years rolled by and i saw news channesl flashing Kandahar. People made a joke that if Indian cricket team is kidnapped , what we need to give in ransom to get them back as we did to save human lives at the cost of a hard core terrorist.
If all this were perceived as probably Indian government's weakness and if these incidents never bothererd Uncle Sam , it was rightly so. There is a proverb in telugu which says you won't feel the pain , if it does not hit you.

Come 2007 , full circle , What Amritsar was with Operation Blue Star , Lal Masjid brought Operation Silence. I was really happy for once that what you give is what you get back. Though a peace loving human i never wished any human's blood getting spilt , am happy that now atleast some one across the border understands what it means to have a sponsored terrorism in place.

Let them repent for what they have done ,let the historians draw a parallel between Amritsar and lalmasjid. I do not want general to go down as what happened to Mrs. Gandhi, he needs to be there to write a foreword to the next generations about what it means to say that " What you give is What you get".

General ..All the best !~! its time if you apply and have same standards for every one around.

i am feeling happy about u r post but i have something to say i completely deny with u r opinion that "what you give is what you get back in life" can't be extrapoliated from a moral stance of general living to the basis of decisions in power politics
i feel that contextual justice determines the outcomes which inturn maintian in them the "sense of justice" which indeed carries your view.
but what they did ,suited that context more aptly and in international relations prices paid cannot yeild you good returns always as a simple commodity offers you service as u pay for it.
