Sachin@20, Still there is Plenty

I have been actively blogging, tweeting and media marketing a lot of stuff for the last few weeks to supplement my new job role as Head of Marketing. However my personal blog notes was waiting to be re-launched and was waiting for something thats really close to my heart to restart what i passionately do-- Write.

I would want to just say that for two reasons am happy to have born in this age (i was born in 78). One i am successfully part of the Sweeping technology revolutions that IT has been offering to and also made my earn my living. Second of course is this man called Sachin, I am just blessed to have been born in the age when he was taken up the willow. I have cricketing knowledge following write ups as pure as the commentaries of Jack Fingelton to writeups of Guha and Rajan Bala. I have witnessed followed and echoed in joy like every Indian did (i was 5 then) when India lifted Prudential Cup. I was at Chennai central station when i watched Sunil Lift Benson Hedges in 1985 and made us Champions, I was also at a TV shop in my town cheering when Sunny hit that 10,000 run in Ahmedabad. But i never had a change of character until i watched Sachin hit Qadir for 4 consective sixes which i think was his way of announcing his arrival to all the 4 directions of the world.

I do not want to talk about his records here. I recollect Imran famously telling that out of the prodigees he thinks when was asked to pick in the 92 world cup rated Inzy higher up and Viv rated lara. True these are true greats of the same age, but Sachin rose to heights that these guys could not just even imagine and hence fair on them to have not imagined where and what Sachin would reach.

For a second to be true to myself, what Sachin has achieved he could have achieved with his Left hand :). I think i want him to play what he did famously at perth, manchester, capetown, chennai and Sydney (am talking about fearless cricket). I want to play just Sharjah, Hyderabad and that famous Auckland type of one day knocks which make bowlers shiver before even they take the marks to bowl. I want Sachin to Intimidate, Play free and show to the world what he really meant when he said "Mein Khelunga" when his nose bleeded. Thats the real Sachin.

One thing thats set sachin apart from more mercurial prince like LARA is Sachin carries 1 Billion aspirations even till date and if you multiply that by the number of days Sachin has to step on the field, its just phenomenal. You do not need a better role model than Sachin for the generation next throughout the world forget India. His commitment, consistency, loyalty, sincierty and the pure respect and passion for the game he plays proudly displaying the tri color on his helmet is a once in a generation act. I stop here as i think Sachin us just @20 ...and i think there is Plenty. Its just a pure magic that he can weave. Believe me he is as true as Sobers. I would think he is better served by being compared with Sir Garry than Sir Don.

Go on Sachin, You have just played with your left hand, its time you play with your Right and win the Might.
